Skin care survival diaries. Brought to you, from The Clinic.
During social isolation making your way to The Clinic, beauticians or hairdressers is just not an option! Dr Bex and Dr Nat (with their bad hair roots) are bringing their skincare survival diaries to you, in your own home. Over the next few weeks, they will be posting about skincare tips, how to take care of your skin at home, recommending various skincare routines and skincare products.
We hope to help use this social isolation time to let your skin breathe and recover. We’re all definitely wearing less makeup (except when zooming), so giving you skin a little rest and being able to properly keep to a skin care routine is really going to do wonders for your skin.
So whilst your hair and nails may not be bob on, your skin will be! And without further ado – here is our first video from our Dr Nathalie!
Fillers and how to make them last a little longer.
We’ve come up with a few tips on filler maintenance and Dr Nat has done a little clip for some skin care advice. This week we are focusing on how to make the most out of any treatments you have already had; Fillers.
Hydration is key. From inside to out and outside to in.
Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day and apply a rich moisturiser on an evening. The filler is hydrophilic, this means they attract water and hold on to it. Drinking plenty of water can provide a subtle plump to fillers not to mention it is actually really good general skin health.
Sun factor protection (SPF). Don’t forget to apply each day, even if you are just pottering in and out of the garden, you are still protecting your skin. We also recommend an SPF for lips, some of you may already own one of our nifty little Clinic lip balms, they are super moisturising for lips, have a little compact mirror and fit very nicely into any purse!
Wearing an SPF will protect your fillers from breaking down by harmful UV rays, remember you are protecting your skin from ageing and also stopping pigment changes occurring.
Avoid excessive massage to the face or tough exfoliation techniques, these unfortunately mechanical breakdown the filler more quickly. We can recommend some other forms of exfoliation (our Alumier AHA formula- great for giving skin an extra v ava voom) that aren’t too harsh on the skin, and don’t cause your filler to break down an quicker.
We’ll be back with more tips and tricks to help our skin survive the spring of 2020.
Remember everyone; hang on in there and we’ll see you soon.
Love, Team Clinic 🖤
